Robert E Clark
1975 Colorado Golf Hall of Fame Inductee
A most impressive playing career underscored many reasons for Bob Clark's induction into the Hall of Fame.
Clark won four state amateur titles -- the 1940 Colorado Golf Association Match Play Championship and the 1938, 1950, and 1951 Stroke Play Championships -- spanning 13 years when he was as dominant as any player in Colorado history.
Over much of that same span, Clark qualified for 12 U.S. Amateur Championships and won the local Cy Newton Tournament. Over his 55 years as a member at Lakewood Country Club, he claimed 14 club championships. Equally impressive was the fact that at age 70 Clark still carried an impressive 2 handicap.
Bob's son Bill won two CGA Match Play titles in his own right, in the early 1970s.
