Gary Longfellow

Originally from Raton, N.M., Gary Longfellow graduated from the University of Denver in 1965. Two years later he found himself piloting the friendly skies of United Airlines.

This longtime Lakewood Country Club member is primarily known for his “Colorado Grand Slam” in 1974. That year, Gary won the CGA Match Play Championship, the CGA Stroke Play Championship and the Colorado Open. He was the first amateur to claim the Colorado Open title.

Gary captured the CGA Stroke Play Championship again in 1978 and his second CGA Match Play Championship in 1987. He has also teamed with Gary Potter in 1972 and with Don Keffer in 1988 to win the CGA Two-Man Team Championships.
