The summer before his senior year at Evergreen High School, Tyler Long shot an 11-under 129 to earn medalist honors in the 2024 CGA State Junior Championship. He would go on to complete the 3A trifecta: he won the state’s 3A championship with a 9-under-par 67-68—135 effort at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo; captured the Jeffco League title for a record fourth time; and carded a 7-under 64 at Fox Hollow to take the 3A Region 2 title. Nationally, Tyler triumphed in the AJGA’s 2024 Colorado Springs Junior at Cheyenne Shadows, finished runner-up in that year’s Justin Thomas Junior Championship.
In his final AGJA tournament—the prestigious 2025 RLX Ralph Lauren Junior Match Play Classic held on the brutal Black Course at Long Island’s Bethpage State Park—Tyler put his name on the same trophy as Tiger Woods and other PGA Tour stars by winning on the course that would host the Ryder Cup later that year. A member of the Junior America’s Cup team that finished third in a field of 18 teams, Tyler now competes for the University of Colorado in Boulder.
