At one point during the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Brayden Forte had 13 straight top-20 finishes in Colorado PGA junior events, including two wins.
But 2025 would bring even greater success. The rising Cherokee High School senior won the CGA State Junior, sweeping all his matches at Common Ground Golf Course. He also posted two top-10 finishes in prestigious American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) events and shot an 8-under-par 64 to qualify for the state’s 2025 Korn Ferry Tour event, The Ascendant presented by Blue at TPC Colorado in Berthoud. While missing the cut, his 4-over score tied him with the tournament’s only other amateur.
He finished third in the Class 5A boys state high school tournament and rallied the Cougars with an eagle on Bookcliff Country Club’s 18th hole to force a playoff in which they beat Denver East for the title.
A two-year member of the Team Colorado junior elite squad, he also placed fifth individually in the highly competitive 2025 boys Junior America’s Cup.
In 2026, Forte and 2025 Future Famer Miles Kuhl won the CGA’s Four Ball Championship at Raindance National, as their 31-under-par total shattered the previous mark by three strokes. Competing at Saucon Valley in his third U.S. Junior Amateur, Forte became the first Coloradan to advance to the Round of 16 since Colorado Golf Hall of Famer Wyndham Clark in 2009.
A week later, as a member of Colorado’s 2026 Junior America’s Cup squad, Forte became the second Coloradan in the 53-year history of the event to capture the individual title, joining Dillon Stewart of Fort Collins (2018). His 14-under 202 total left him five shots clear of his nearest competitor as Colorado’s team (Forte, Kuhl, Nicholas Brooks and Ash Edwards) finished fifth overall.
Forte and Kuhl remain teammates at San Diego State, hoping to follow in the footsteps of PGA Tour stars Xander Shauffle and J.J. Spaun.
