Ella Scott of Castle Rock has become rather accustomed to finishing atop leaderboards in big-time junior golf tournaments in Colorado.
Just since the late spring of 2025, the now-senior at Valor Christian has claimed the last two Class 5A girls state high school individual titles—as well as helping Valor run its streak of state team championships to a record-tying five straight. In addition, she earned the girls victory at the prestigious CGA State Junior in ’25.
Scott, who represented Colorado in the Girls Americas Cup in 2025 and 2026, capped 2025 by being named the CGA Girls Player of the Year. It’s little wonder why she’s in her second year as a member of Team Colorado, the elite junior squad that’s part of the USGA’s National Development Program. Team Colorado features eight girl golfers and eight boys—all among the very best players in the state.
Last year, Scott competed in the U.S. Girls’ Junior, narrowly missing advancing to match play, falling in a playoff. “Being able to proudly display my Team Colorado bag at the U.S. Girls’ Junior in Atlanta (in 2025) was awesome,” Scott said. “… I was representing the Colorado Golf Association as their state junior champion.”
Also on a national level, one of her most impressive finishes came at the prestigious Notah Begay III Junior Golf Championship in late 2025, when she ended up tied for fifth.
Scott posted two top-5 finishes in 2025 Colorado-based AJGA events—second at the AJGA Colorado Springs Junior and fourth at the Wyndham Clark presented by the CGA—and at the 2026 edition of the latter event she rallied to tie for first place, only to lose in a playoff.
Earlier this year, she defeated an elite field featuring 40 of the state’s top 50 players across all CHSAA classifications in the 3rd Annual Showcase Invite hosted by Holy Family High School at The Fox Hill Club. She also set a women’s course record of 65 at Lake Valley Golf Club in Boulder and won the first event in the 2026 PGA Junior Cup Series at Meadow Hills.
Scott has verbally committed to play her college golf at North Carolina State beginning in the fall of 2027.
